Case - Subway
Subway restaurants wanted to the phase out of the Subway Sub club stamps program as people were abusing the system by photocopying paper based stamps.
A new loyalty program utilising barcoded keytags was created to replace the old program and to overcome the issues of potential abuse.
The Subway keytags have the details of the participating restaurant and a barcode with a 10 digit customer number.
The first 5 digits are used to identify the appropriate store and the next 5 numbers range from 00001 to 99999.
In order to receive a Subway keytag the customer has to provide their name, date of birth and a mobile number with the consent to
receive occasional offers and reminders from Subway.
During the trial period, Subway Craigieburn sent two different offers to its 500+ VIP customers who had signed up for the program.
For the first offer of a 12 inch sub + small meal for $7.95 there were 274 redemptions and for the second offer of a 6 inch sub +
small meal for $5.95 there were 125 redemptions. The total number of redemptions was 399 after 1273 sms messages, which raised the response rate above 31%.
Out of the 1273 sms sent there were only 5 opt-outs from future offers. With an un-subscription rate of less than 0.4%,
Subway customers were clearly happy to receive offers directly to their mobile.
Case - F1 Australian Grand Prix
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation contacted SL Interactive in order to replace its coupon competitions of the past with an SMS entry mechanism.
Each day 50 ticket holders were awarded with an upgrade to Grand Stand seating during the 4-day competition weekend.
The switch from coupon entries to SL Interactive´s SMS competition system provided the GP Corporation with cost savings of
over $50,000 and more than doubled the number of entries of the past.
Case - Power FM
Power FM in South Australia is using SL Interactive´s Radio System on a daily basis. Listeners text in their song requests,
participate in various competitions and regularly send questions, comments and their feedback to the stations announcers.
As the management of song requests has been fully automated, the staff has now more time to spend on quality programming.
In addition, the 700+ messages the station receives every month now provides an entirely new revenue stream for the station.
